A motivated and interested group (introduction at the end of the article) met on Friday evening on November 6, 2020 in a joint video meeting to discuss the topics "42 Heilbronn" (programming school), innovation factory, connect.IT and Heilbronn in general.

The reason for this was a discussion in the WhatsApp group "connect.IT Live", where questions arose about the goals and ambitions of the "School" 42 in Heilbronn. This lively discussion gave rise to the idea of continuing this in a virtual character workshop.

At the beginning of the discussion round, Thomas briefly talked about himself, his previous work at Google and why he took the option of becoming CEO of 42 Heilbronn. At the same time, the first questions were collected on a virtual Miro Board.

Thomas worked at Google for 14 years and has now been living in Heilbronn for 3 months. He studied literature and describes himself as an IT autodidact. At some point, Oliver Hanisch from Campus Founders came along and convinced Oliver of the idea of "42 Heilbronn". And Thomas fell in love with the concept.

The aim of 42 Heilbronn is to create a place that offers freedom and opportunities. Thomas is extremely optimistic that 42 Heilbronn will strengthen and reinforce the students' mindsets from the outset, bring like-minded people together and create a network and an atmosphere to reinforce their own skills. Even though the school has not yet started, a code of conduct has already been defined. 1) Don't panic 2) be good and 3) create something awesome.

And so the motto of 42 Heilbronn is also the motto of those responsible for Heilbronn and the surrounding area - "create something awesome" with 42 Heilbronn.

Ideas for joint projects and future collaborations will now be discussed at the next meeting. However, getting to know each other and building a network is just as important.

At a later date, there will also be a panel discussion for all interested parties on the topic of "How do we move Heilbronn forward in the next 5 - 10 years".

All interested parties are of course welcome to attend both events and to join our active WhatsApp group "connect.IT Live". To stay up to date with conneect.IT, we also recommend following our newsletter and our social media channels.
