Conference on September 24–25: How Messe Stuttgart Takes a Holistic Approach to Processes

What started over a casual pizza dinner has grown into a respected industry conference with a strong reputation beyond regional borders. In autumn 2022, process experts from Messe Stuttgart – Stefan Bantscheff and David Glock – invited professionals from a range of industries to their very first exchange on process management. The central question: How can organizations not only manage but actively shape their processes in an increasingly complex world?

That initial meeting with 26 participants has since evolved into the All about Process Management conference. The goal: to create a platform that bridges theory and practice, connects players across industries, and puts real-world solutions front and center. Three years later, the conference has become a key date in the calendar for the process management community.

From Idea to Established Industry Event

The idea for the event emerged from a clear realization at Messe Stuttgart: Digital transformation is not an isolated process. Companies across all sectors face similar challenges. But especially in the field of process management, there was – from the perspective of the two initiators – a lack of platforms that bring together diverse perspectives and best practices.

What began as an informal exchange quickly gained momentum. Messe Stuttgart saw the potential to build a strong network – and participants were eager for more. With formats such as panel discussions, expert talks, and hands-on workshops, All about Process Management has grown into a unique conference that makes modern process solutions tangible throughout Germany.

An Interactive Forum for Process Management

From identifying and analyzing internal workflows to technical implementation and automation – the conference covers all aspects of process management. Change management also plays a central role, since successful digital transformation requires not only innovative technology, but also the right company culture. As Stefan puts it: “Companies face similar challenges regardless of size or sector. With our event, we aim to foster the collective intelligence of process management experts and decision-makers.”

What to Expect in 2025

This year will mark the biggest edition of All about Process Management to date! In addition to keynotes, presentations, masterclasses, and round tables, the event will debut its first-ever Process Hackathon. Here, participants will work side by side with professionals to develop innovative solutions – using modern BPM methods, RPA, iPaaS, and low-code platforms.

One highlight of the hackathon is the inclusion of students: They’ll receive free entry and collaborate with experienced professionals on real-world problems. Fresh perspectives meet practical experience – a win for all.

The connection to connect.IT Heilbronn-Franken came through mutual networks. Though David works in Stuttgart, his heart still beats for Heilbronn. We first heard about his project through a shared member – and were immediately excited by the idea of a grassroots, practitioner-led approach to process management.

And the regional link is no coincidence: Heilbronn-Franken has become home to a dynamic IT scene, often overlooked compared to bigger tech hubs. But it’s exactly here – where mid-sized companies and hidden champions thrive – that there’s incredible expertise in process optimization and automation.
