The premiere of the IT job shuttle on November 9, 2016 was a complete success: over 30 IT students were able to get to know five companies from the Heilbronn area up close. The participants had the opportunity to find out about specific IT job vacancies, internships and the working atmosphere at the companies. In the evening, the students and company representatives were then invited to round off the day in a pleasant atmosphere at the Club Kaiser Skybar in Heilbronn and to further deepen their contacts.

"Our idea of using the IT job shuttle to bring students with an IT background and companies into direct contact and thus remove a major barrier to finding a job has been a complete success. We are therefore planning to continue the event next year," said the two main organizers Steffen Jung (CEO connect.IT) and Daniel Wierbicki (CEO connect.IT) on the success of the IT job shuttle.

The first stop on the shuttle bus was the Schwarz Group in Neckarsulm, which showed the students the wide range of career opportunities at Lidl, Kaufland Informationssysteme and Schwarz IT. Whether developing ERP systems, apps, portals or setting up innovative delivery services - the entire Schwarz Group operates in a very dynamic environment driven by modern information technologies. Committed young professionals are in high demand and can immediately get involved in practical projects. Not only locally, but also internationally.

Afterwards, we moved on to Fujitsu TDS in Neckarsulm. The company attaches great importance to an open environment and a collegial working atmosphere. It offers flat hierarchies, an innovative environment and varied projects. Fujitsu TDS sees itself as a medium-sized company that combines all its advantages with those of a global player. Due to the outsourcing and SAP consulting activities, employees are offered a diverse and varied range of tasks, as customers come from a wide variety of industries and have a wide range of requirements for information systems. This aspect is particularly important for career starters, as they have a steep learning curve right from the start.

This was followed by a visit to the FÖRCH Group in Neuenstadt am Kocher. With a turnover of around 380 million euros, FÖRCH is one of the leading direct sales companies for workshop, assembly and fastening products in trade and industry. The FÖRCH Group currently has more than 300,000 customers, over 2,600 employees, approx. 80,000 articles in around 50 countries and a well-developed structure of sales branches. Information technologies are the basis and a central driver for success. We are looking for specialists for ERP systems, IT operations, support and process management. As an employer, FÖRCH offers the prospects of an internationally successful group combined with the "spirit" of a medium-sized family business.

The next stop was the digital agency INDECA in Heilbronn. At INDECA, more than 50 employees realize demanding requirements for different customers - all in the spirit of digital transformation. The students were given a practical insight into current projects. INDECA has recently launched a SOFTWARE INNOVATION LAB, which enables companies to outsource their innovation management for digital transformation. The practical demonstration of the HoloLens augmented reality glasses, which can display interactive 3D projections in the immediate environment, provided exciting topics for discussion. So far, only selected developers have been able to use the cyber glasses. The students were therefore excited to take a look at the "new reality" for themselves.

The bus tour ended at the medium-sized company Karl Marbach in Heilbronn. Marbach is a manufacturer of tools, machines and materials for the packaging industry and is now the global market leader with more than 1,300 employees at over 20 locations worldwide. The company faces the challenge of using IT to efficiently control the flow of goods and production. After a tour of the production plant, the fields of work of the IT department and the specific entry opportunities were presented.
